Time Limits
There are time limits within which you must present your claim to the employment tribunal or court. In the case of tribunal claims, the time limit is tight: in many cases it is 3 months from the event complained of. These time limits are strictly observed by the tribunal and, whilst it is possible in certain cases to be allowed to pursue a claim if the time limit is missed, this should be avoided if possible. A list of the time limits for pursuing claims is set out below:
Claims for breach of contract brought in the County or High Court have a time limit of 6 years.
